Franchise InformationGymboree Play & Music currently has over 600 sites in over 30 countries around the world. After opening our first site in Japan in May 2006, we have continued to increase our customer base and brand awareness. We opened our 2nd site in Tokyo in 2008. As our next step, we hope to expand throughout Japan by sub-franchising to qualified individuals around the country. Since our programs are targeted at children from 0 - 5 years old and their parents, in addition to general management and financial skills experience working with young children and their parents is strongly preferred. As the master franchisee for Gymboree Play & Music in Japan we will provide sub-franchisees with support from the start-up phase including advice on site development and operations and teacher and staff training. Please keep in mind that a Gymboree Play & Music franchise is a business which requires a strong owner presence and therefore is best suited for those who wish to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a Gymboree site. Opening a site will require an initial investment including initial franchise fee, renting a location with at least 70 tsubo of space, construction fees and furniture and equipment fees, etc. The higher your rent the more expensive the investment will be but the expected investment is between 40 and 60 million yen. We are currently taking applications from qualified individuals and teams who are interested in owning and operating their own Gymboree Play & Music site in Japan.
